I practice a non-diet approach to nutrition. This means that I will not ask you to go on any specific diet, nor will I ask to deprive yourself in any way. I believe all foods have their place (donuts and salads alike), and will never ban any foods from your life. Together, we will focus on building true health-promoting behaviors, rather than goals to reach a certain weight or size.
The main tenants of my practice are…
Food should be simple. There are a lot of products out there claiming to be the cure-all, but honestly health doesn’t have to look like that. I want you to feel strong and energized, without creating extravagant meals, or purchasing a ton of trendy (i.e. expensive) products.
I believe that the food you eat should be nourishing and pleasurable, and should not leave you feeling hungry, or unsatisfied in any way. We will work together to find foods you enjoy eating and that make you feel good!
I believe that the relationships that you have with food should not cause anxiety or guilt. Instead of focusing on numbers as a means validate your health, we will work on developing healthy behaviors that support your well-being. No matter your size or shape, your body deserves to be treated with respect, right now. And you are so much more than a number on the scale.
I want to help you develop a positive relationship with food and your body, find the joy in eating simple nourishing meals, and provide a safe place to talk about what health really looks like for you. Please know that your story will be met with compassion and always without judgement. Let’s find balance so that you can get back to the things that really matter to you in life.
If you have questions about any of this, feel free to reach out to me!
