14 Podcasts That’ll Change the Way You Think about Food + Nutrition

Hi friends! A good way to start to reject diet culture is to start learning! And a nice way to ease in can be through podcasts! One of my all-time favorite things to do right now is to walk + podcast. I get to learn and move! It’s perfect. Since there was some interest in learning more about what podcasts to actually listen to, I wrote them all down. I hope you enjoy!

Dietitian-based Podcasts:

Don’t Salt my Game

This is by UK dietitian Laura Thomas, PhD. She’s pretty salty (ha) so if you like that style (combined with some cussing), this might be your jam. This podcast is like talking to your best friend who also happens to be a knowledgeable #ladyboss in all things intuitive eating, health at every size, and non-diet nutrition.

Love, Food

By dietitian Julie Duffy Dillon, readers write in a letter to food. Julie responds to the questions in a welcoming, comforting way. If you want to listen to something that answers questions to your complicated relationship questions to food, this is gold.

Food Psych

By Christy Harrison, MPH, RD. Christy talks all things intuitive eating, body image, eating disorder recovery, weight stigma, fat acceptance, and diet culture. If you are looking for something more radical to challenge some of your engrained thought patterns, I recommend this one!

Nutrition Matters

By Paige Smathers, RD. Paige takes a more gentle approach to intuitive eating, health at every size, to look at things that really matter in nutrition & health. This is an insightful podcast, giving you a different perspective on how to approach all things health related. Bonus points for her also living in Salt Lake City!

BodyLove Project

By dietitian and personal trainer, Jessie Haggerty. The podcast about loving your body and what that really entails. Interviews include topics on intuitive eating, body positivity, Health at Every Size, and weight inclusivity.

Nourishing Minds Podcast

By dietitians, and friends, Meghan Dixon and Victoria Myers. These guys focus on wellness without obsession, with a holistic approach to nutrition and health.

RD Real Talk

By Heather Caplan, RD. She talks intuitive eating, sports nutrition, and eating disorder recovery. Heather keeps it real in her podcast and it feels like she’s talking right to you, as a friend! She also does coaching for RDs or new RD2be’s, so if this is something you are interested in, check it out!

Body Kindness Podcast

By dietitian and author Rebecca Scritchfield, this podcast challenges all things diet culture. From food, to family to sex, nothing is left out!

Food Heaven Podcast

Best friends Wendy and Jess are both master’s level dietitians, and certified diabetes educators (MS, RD, CDE). They talk all things health, nutrition, and food. Be sure to check out their recipes on their blog!

The Mindful Dietitian

Australian dietitian Fiona Sutherland talks to other dietitians and nutrition professionals around the world about promoting a peaceful relationship with food and bodies. This one is focused directly at dietitians, and how to incorporate the concepts of Health at Every Size, the Non-Diet approach, and Mindfulness-based practice into real life.

Dietitian’s Unplugged

By dietitians Aaron Flores and Glenys Oyston. They look into health, wellness, and fitness with a Health at Every Size, intuitive eating, and body positive approach. Bonus points for Aarons voice being super soothing. Love these two!

Non-dietitian, but intuitive eating/body positive focus:

Liveng Proof

From personal trainer Engrid Latina. She shares both her own experiences & reflections from her years of working with women as a personal trainer, to provide accessible tools for making peace with yourself.

The Healthy Maven

By healthy living blogger Davida (why are last names so hard to find??). She shares interviews with other health and wellness professionals with the intent to help women to live healthFULLY rather than living for their health.

Chasing Joy Podcast

From barista, and healthy living blogger Georgie Morley. Georgie has meaningful conversations with others about wellness, self-care, food, and relationships on how to live a healthy, vibrant life. She’s into plants, and Happy Potter, and I am pretty down with that.

Any others I missed?? Let me know!
